We had our first session today for DAT 206:Everyware
This module is looking at the internet of things and the connected everyday. But ill Look into those a bit later on for now lets have a look at the brief. For this semester we have a 5 week research task. Within these 5 weeks we will take part in Workshops , practicals, seminars and tutorials. The finale deadline is November the 10th where we have to demonstrate a prototype along with a presentation and then submit a blog which is this.
The area of research and prototyping for this is , The Connected Everyday . The Purpose of the prototypes is for groups to create a product that is interactive not only in a digital sense but also in a physical sense. Our product should show a creative way of thinking and any technology involved should be seamless in use. For example like tying a pair of shoes , once you have learnt you don't have to pay attention when performing the action it becomes seamless. We have to look into the idea of constellations and how they will come into play within our projects but again i will go through that later on.
At this point in time i have no ideas into what the project could be , i will have a look at what the workshops consist of first. That way i will have a better understanding of how to build a object that can be connected to the everyday.
Next week we have our first workshop with Chris Hunt, followed by a seminar and group talk on 3 papers we have been given to read.
