Today we made the code to go onto the ball , the code verifies and uploads fine ,however the photon does not run the code. This is puzzling as we are getting no error messages,at first we thought it was a network issue as I had been swapping the photons network from home WiFi to my hotspot. We decided that we would just use my hotspot from now on so we don't have to re claim the board each time. That did still not fix the issue though, the idea of wireless programming is great but it seams to be another element that can brake.
code was the next obvious fault in the line, we double checked the code and re uploaded it but still no luck. To double check after talking to Chris he suggested we just try and upload the example code he gave us to the board. That did work which means he had to be our code.

Our next debug step was to copy the example code into our file and upload that, however this did not work. I now could not understand why the code would not run or if its not getting uploaded to the board properly. In the end it was Chris to the rescue who at first was puzzled himself. Then he noticed the file name did not have-not at the end which is the file type for the photon boards. He then added .ino to the file name and like magic the boards worked.
I was annoyed that it was the file exstention that was the problem as we spend days trying to sort this error out. That is not something we have ever had to worry about as normally any idle we work in unless its brackets adds the file exstention of the language we are writing in.
