We handed in the prototype today and showed it off to the class along with our presentation. The chair got the last of its upgrades today it received its usb power banks to power everything making the chair completing stand alone no PC need and no wires slowing you down.
Everything was going smoothly actually better than ever it was fully working. And then we came up to show them demo when the ball stopped sending data , turned out the power in its bat trey had died. Not a problem we had a spare battery on hand so we plugged it in and data started stream back up to node red.
Duncan then volunteered to sit on the chair and error 2 had happened, the IBM node red went down for around 3 minutes which meant the on command wasent going through. i didn't have a bypass encase node red stopped working so we started to present. The server came back and we continued to demo the product receiving the on command node red sent data town to the pi when .. once again nothing happened. Afraid the power would run out a group member had switch the pis power , as a result that meant the pi rebooted and the code was no longer running. So we went back to the presentation finished that . We waited until the other group had performed before we showed the product again.
After a reboot of the pi and re starting the node red all was working again and then the product demo successfully.
Overall i was not happy with how the demo went, even though it worked in the end i like things to go to plan. However it is only a prototype and not the complete version.
What i learnt:
Power - don't power up the prototypes until just before you demo to save battery also bring spares.
python - next time have the code set to auto run that way if power fails it will sort it self out
