With me and phoebe now doing a water based instrument we well mainly she decided she just look up some examples . I perfure just to jump in with the electronics but she is probably right in this case . So we hit the internet and found some example of water based music.
here is the first video

In this video the user has connect laser into an ardunio from then going into pure data.By adding objects into the water they are change the signal from the laser , shifting it which is then outputting a different value out into pure data which in turn gives a different sound.
this looks really cool and the circuit is nice and simple i would love to see the pure data sketch in order to get a closer look at its workings.
Here is another video that we looked at
https://vimeo.com/118823989
At first look this is a musical sink , which if that's the case is really cool and i would like one as it would make doing the dishes more fun , however im not sure if that would really be the case. We never get to see inside this sink which is a shame as it appears to play different notes from different places inside the sink you are touching ? im not sure on that due to the angle of the camera but that's a hunch. According to there right up there is a capacity sensor connected to an ardunio which is linked to pure data.
These are two nice examples of using pure data with an ardunio for simple yet effective results and i love how the water is a element in the pieces but i don't think they allow the water to have as much control as they could do
